Hyperlinks (links)

You move around the Internet using a Web Browser (like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator/Communicator). The two most common ways of navigating are through Links and URLs.

Hyperlinks (links) are often text (words) or graphics (pictures) that connect to another location within the same web site, or elsewhere on the Internet. Usually text links are a different color than the rest of the section text, and frequently underlined. When you move your mouse pointer over a link, the cursor will change shapes so that it appears as a "hand". Clicking on a link is an instruction to your web browser to go to that place on the internet. Links can appear as

Most links do NOT say “Click Here” - especially the buttons (either text or graphics) to navigate a web page.  Links can be included in e-mail, in documents, and anywhere on the Internet, including advertisements.

Move your mouse pointer over the arrow and watch it turn into the shape of a hand.
